Meet Our Members

The Creativity Loft opened its doors to the public in September of 2018 and we are so happy to have welcomed these creative individuals to our community. Our members are the heart of The Loft. They bring life to our studio and provide art, inspiration, and workshops for the public. Together we support and encourage each other to dream bigger, achieve our goals, and enjoy the journey.

JAKI McQUISTON

Jaki McQuiston is the founder and owner of The Creativity Loft. Moved by the loss of her son, she opened the studio in 2018 to bring the healing possibilities of art practice to those who may be suffering from loss, depression, anxiety, and stress. Jaki is working towards an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University. She looks forward to bringing what she has learned from Antioch and the healing modality of art practice to the Loft.

Jaki has practiced making art in many different modalities. Currently, she expresses her creativity through painting and making leather jewelry.

JULIE VEREB

Julie Vereb is a passionate creator of all things. Her favorite mediums are sewing and Mod Podge. Julie grew up in the Seattle area and loves to go on hikes with her dogs. Previously, Julie has worked with elders, kids, and animals. Julie enjoys advocating for those who are often dismissed or misunderstood.

Julie started her own company, Baby Got Bark a custom order clothing and accessories line for kids and animals. Her company was inspired when Julie’s friends started having babies and her passion for textiles and sewing new designs grew from there.

SHANNON SCOTT

Shannon Scott is a self-taught artist living in North Seattle with her husband, daughters, and a gaggle of small mammals. She spends her time trying to balance the demands of parenting with her ever expanding list of artistic media. Her current focuses are surrealist mixed-media collage and microminiature paintings set in sterling silver jewelry.

MAGGIE HARVEY

Maggie is an artist, graphic designer, and writer living north of Seattle with her dog and cat. She spends her free time following wherever her interests take her, which tends to be almost anywhere. With many hats already, she loves to find the intersections between one interest and another; these range from the presence of American Transcendentalism philosophy in Ada Limon’s poetry, to analyzing the visual inspirations in the television adaptation of “The Fall of the House of Usher”. Currently, she works mostly with digital illustration and sticker design. However, she is stepping back into traditional art with paintings inspired by the interest of the moment.

EOWYN BAUGHMAN

Eowyn works for REI CoOP as a data scientist. She loves the outdoors and sharing it with her son who is 5. They have 3 cats and 20+ fish at home. Eowyn’s background is in wind energy and climate science, but she likes to be surprised by the weather. Last fall, Eowyn learned how to make espresso drinks at home and how to play pickleball, both of which she enjoyed in different ways. Eowyn loves second-hand furniture, ultra warm blankets, and planning road trips to national parks.

RUTH-ANNE FORD

Ruth-Anne is a Seattle based baker focusing on wedding cakes, celebration cakes and royal icing cookies. She takes pride in creating one-of-a-kind sweets that compliment the overall aesthetics and design of events. She uses only the best ingredients (local if possible) and is dedicated to producing a great-tasting work for her clients.

ZIONNA YARBROUGH
